Having recently moved from a Nikon DSLR system based on a D6 and D850 to a Mirrorless system with Z8/9 bodies, I wanted to save a bit of weight - and money - by going for this 24-120 f4 rather than the 24-70 f2.8. I have a 20mm f2. 8 and a 50mm f2.8 and 85mm f1.4 in case I need greater apertures, so wasn't too bothered by having a maximum f4. What many others claim is fully supported by my testing. The Z version is a great lens. Image quality is excellent - as good as most F version primes, focusing is super fast and it has a lens fn button and control ring - both with programmable functions. I use the lens fn to toggle zooming into 100% for focus checking and the control ring to change ISO value by rotating (great in conjunction with manual mode). Nikon lens technology has improved from an already excellent standard and the Z mount has allowed even greater improvements. This will be my standard walk around / event lens. Worth every cent - and more at Camerasdori prices!
